Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes - it is absolutely possible to improve your baby's sleep without using cry-it-out methods. Gentle, responsive approaches focus on supporting your baby while gradually building healthy sleep habits. This means you remain present and responsive, while still making meaningful, lasting changes to your baby’s sleep.

Frequent night waking can happen for many reasons including sleep associations, feeding patterns, development, or overtiredness. Rather than treating night waking as a problem with a quick ‘fix’, I look at the full picture of your baby’s sleep and create a plan that addresses the root cause in a gentle, effective way.

Gentle sleep training is a responsive approach that helps babies and infants learn to sleep with support, rather than being left to cry alone. It involves gradual, step-by-step changes tailored to your baby’s needs, giving you a clear plan to follow while maintaining connection and trust.

Every baby is different, but many families begin to see improvements within 1-2 weeks. Because my approaches focus on sustainable change rather than quick fixes, the results are there to last. You’ll be supported throughout the process so that you feel confident and clear every step of the way!

Yes - the 4 month sleep regression is one of the most common reasons families seek support. This stage is linked to changes in your baby’s sleep cycles and can lead to frequent waking and short naps. I help you navigate this phase and put foundations in place for better sleep moving forward.
-
Yes this is very common and something I support families with regularly. Together, we gently work towards helping your baby feel secure sleeping in their own space, without sudden changes or leaving them to cry.
-
No - feeding decisions are always led by you. My gentle sleep methods do not require you to stop breastfeeding, unless you choose to. Instead, we look at how feeding and sleep work together and make changes that feel right for your family. Often through this process, night feeds are naturally dropped by the child as they learn to sleep for longer stretches.

I’ve experienced sleep deprivation myself, and I' have seen first hand with my second child how different things can be. I don’t use any ‘one size fits all’ method, but stay responsive to your baby and your parenting values, and take into consideration your home structures already in place. I have a degree level certification in infant Gentle Sleep support, but am also passionate about using techniques and methods from a variety of sources unlike many consultants who have a more rigid approach or are only trained in one technique.
